Lindell “Buzz” Eugene Hoffman, 80, of Grand Island, NE passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Grand Island Veterans Hospital.

Visitation will be held from 4-6pm Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, Monday, February 26, 2024 at 10:30am with Pastor Luke Biggs officiating. The family requests memorials be designated to your choice of charity. Online condolences and sharing of memories may be directed to www.livson.com. Buzz was born September 27, 1943 to Leonard and Doris (Jugert) Hoffman in Tacoma, Washington. He grew up in Red Cloud and Hastings, NE. He was united in marriage to Kay Schickedanz on November 29, 1969 in Grand Island. To this union the couple had 5 children, Brenda, Brendt, Barbara, Brad and Blair.

Buzz entered the United States Army in August, 1964 serving during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in August, 1967. He worked at Swifts Meat Packing Plant for 40 years.

He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and coaching all types of sports. Buzz coached baseball/softball for 27 years with his best friend Troy. He was a huge Husker fan. His greatest joy was watching all of his grandkids play sports and participate in music and theater. He loved his dog, Harley.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kay, of 54 years; 4 children and their spouses, Brenda (David) Humphrey, Brendt (Becky) Hoffman, Barbara (Jon) Wegner, Brad (Elisabeth) Hoffman; sister, Debbie (Ken) Fairbanks; 9 grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Blair and sister, LeeAnn Dalton.
