Alfred Louis Mueller

Alfred Louis Mueller (of Superior, Nebraska) was born November 15, 1934 to Henry and Alma (Meyer) Mueller in Thayer County, Nebraska near Kiowa.  He departed this life on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 83 years.

Al was united in marriage to LaMira Lipker on June 19, 1960.  LaMira and Al moved from Deshler, Nebraska to Superior, Nebraska in 1963, and were blessed with the birth of two children a daughter Pamela Ann in 1962 and a son Bruce Alan in 1965.  

Al attended Bethlehem Lutheran School through the 8th grade and graduated from Deshler High School with the class of 1952.  Al was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Kiowa/Davenport, Nebraska.  Al was in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959, serving 18 months in Germany.

After the army, he drove truck for Lueders Truck Line, Deshler, Nebraska and Superior Transfer, Superior, Nebraska.  He then began his 20-year career at Ideal Basic Industries form 1966 to 1986 when the plant closed.  Al then drove truck for Jensby Trucking, Hardy, Nebraska until he retired.  Upon retirement, Al and LaMira started wintering in Alamo, Texas where they built many wonderful friendships.   

Al enjoyed sports, both playing and watching.  He was very good at woodworking and later on he enjoyed whittling Diamond Willow canes.  Al loved to sing and for several years was a member of the Centennial Four Quartet.  Al and LaMira loved to camp making many trips to Colorado and many other states.  The couple also loved to play cards, belonging to several card groups over the years, and enjoyed playing shuffleboard in Texas.  Al was a member of Centennial Lutheran Church since 1963.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife LaMira in 2016, and seven older siblings.

Left to cherish his memory is daughter Pam (Mueller) Poulos of Lincoln, Nebraska; son Bruce Mueller and wife Jodee of Greeley, Colorado; grandchildren: Brent Poulos of Lincoln, Nebraska; Courtney Lusk and husband Adam of West Palm Beach, Florida; Macee Jo Heeter and husband Dylan of Chicago, Illinois; Levi Mueller and Logan Mueller both of Greeley, Colorado; great grandson Jasper Lusk of West Palm Beach, Florida; nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were Saturday 10:00 AM, November 10, 2018 at Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Robert Hopkins officiating. Interment with military honors was at the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, Nebraska.
