Betty Karr Obituary

Betty Mae Karr, the daughter of Nettie (Fulton Karnes) and Vern Favinger, was born December 5, 1927.  She departed this life on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Blue Hill Care Center in Blue Hill, Nebraska at the age of 90 years, 3 months and 16 days.

A lifelong resident of the Bladen community, Betty received her formal education attending Harmony rural school and graduated from the Bladen High School with a certificate in normal training with the class of 1944.  She taught for two years in Adams county at rural school district 62. On November 29, 1946, she was united in marriage with Clayton William Karr at Bladen. This union was blessed with three children. They made their home farming and raising livestock in the Bladen area where Betty was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church and the UMW.

In her leisure time she was an avid reader and always enjoyed a game of cards with friends and family. Her greatest love and enthusiasm in life was for her family and she especially cherished time spent with her grandkids, whether is was babysitting or following their many activities.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Clayton, on May 24, 1983; daughter, Kathy Mae Karr on September 3, 1952; a sister, June Fassler; brother, Harold Favinger; and five step-brothers, Kenneth, Orvil, Charles, Dencil and Jerome Karnes.

Left to treasure her memory are her son, Kevin Karr and wife, Mary, of Bladen, Nebraska; daughter, Linda Heiden and husband, Erwin, of Hastings, Nebraska; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
