Carl Collins Obituary

Carl D. Collins, the son of Lucille Eliza (Webber) and Dale Collins, was born March 29, 1938 at Bostwick, Nebraska.  He departed this life on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 28 days.

Carl was united in marriage with Wanda Snell and this union was blessed with two sons, David and Joseph.  This marriage later ended in divorce. Throughout his working years, Carl was employed as a heavy equipment operator, he drove several million miles in a semi-truck over the road with no accidents, he worked for a period of time as an iron worker in the shipyard, and before his retirement he applied his talents as a handyman.

He was a member of AA and was a mentor to several of the members. Carl was also a member of the Olive Hill Church and he possessed a love for his Lord.  His personality was pervaded by a keen sense of humor and he was happiest when he was helping others in need. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming and dancing.  His greatest love and enthusiasm in life was for his family and grandkids.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Joseph Collins in 1966; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Ivan Klingenberger; and brother-in-law, Jim Barrett.

Left to treasure his memory are his son, David Reimers and wife Rhonda of Palmer, Nebraska; three grandchildren, William Reimers and wife Gayle; Helen Reimers and Cheyenne Reimers; a great granddaughter, Rori Reimers; sisters, Gwen Barrett and June Shelton both of Texas; other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., March 7, 2018 at the Guide Rock Cemetery with Rev. Gary Bennett officiating.
