Carolyn (Figgins) Barnes

Carolyn Eileen Barnes, daughter of Cecil and Irene(Bisbee) Figgins, was born May 17th, 1957 in Red Cloud, NE and she departed this life on November 9th, 2019 at her home in Superior, NE at the age of 62 years.
Carolyn grew up in Burr Oak, KS with her twin sister Marilyn, who was older than her because Marilyn wouldn’t let her out first, and they graduated with the Burr Oak Braves, Burr Oak, Kansas class of 1976. Through her life she had two children: Aaron and Jessica.
Carolyn was a Husker fanatic which could be seen throughout her home and yard.
In 1999, Carolyn met the love of her life, Jim Pursell. Through the next 19 years they made many memories together. On any Saturday during football season they could be found cheering on the Huskers with their friends. Jim passed away on February 13th, 2019.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, two brothers Franklin and Glenn Figgins, Three brother-in-laws Cleo Morris, Merl Reed and Don Bird, and two nephews Eugene Morris and Neil Pate.
She is survived by her son Aaron Christensen and wife Mindy, daughter Jessica Barnes and fiancé Greg Manning, and step-son Jimmy Pursell and fiancé Tammy Heusinkvelt, five grandchildren Damian, Ariel, Ashlyn, Brynlee and Regan, Sisters Loreen Bird, Charlotte(Norman) Pletcher, Pauline(Jr) Mills, Twila Morris, Fern Reed, twin sister Marilyn(Rick) Warneking, Joan(Terry) Pate and one brother Carl(Karen) Figgins, Many Nieces, nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on November 29th, 2019 at the Burr Oak Community Center at 11 :00 a.m. Followed by a luncheon. Inurnment will be at a later date. If you would like to send flowers you can send them to Williams funeral home closer to the date of the service.
Memorials can be given to the family.  Williams Funeral Home of Superior, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
