Diane Joyce Delka the daughter of Lavern and Shirley (Grote) Holtmeier was born April 28, 1949 at Fairbury, Nebraska. She passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Olathe, Kansas at the age of 69 years.
Diane was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church at Tobias, NE and confirmed at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grafton, NE. Diane graduated from Fairmont High School with the class of 1967 and went on to the Lincoln School of Commerce in 1968. Diane was united in marriage to Dale Delka on August 31, 1969 at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grafton. This union was blessed with the birth of three children: Lynette, Troy and Bret.
Diane and Dale lived in Grand Island from 1969 to 1986 when the couple moved to Superior, Nebraska to make their home. In 1992 they moved Ellsworth, KS due to her husband Dale's job transfer and later to Beloit, KS in 1993. While in Kansas, Diane worked for Central National Banks and when the couple returned to Superior in 2005, Diane transferred her employment to the Superior branch of Central National Bank, retiring in 2011.
Diane enjoyed gardening and working with her flower garden, bowling, golfing and playing cards. Diane and Dale always looked forward to hosting Nebraska Football parties and having Dale's brothers come to their home for coffee and to visit. Diane, however, never allowed any of these to diminish her first love that for her family.
She is preceded in death by her father, sister Sondra, brother Boyd and grandson Erin Armstrong.
Survivors include her husband Dale of Superior, NE; mother Shirley Holtmeier of Ravenna, NE; children: Lynette Armstrong and husband Jon of Hays, KS; sons: Troy Delka and wife Tammy of Overland Park, KS; Bret Delka and wife Ryane of Fort Collins, CO; sister Verla Barber of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren: Jace and Dawson Armstrong; Kieston and Davin Delka and Ayden, Charli and Ty Delka, nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were Friday 10:30 a.m., June 29, 2018 at the Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Robert Hopkins officiating. Burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery in Superior.
Memorials may be given to the Nuckolls County Cancer Society.
