Geraldine Phyllis (Holling) Shipley

Geraldine P. Shipley, the daughter of Audrey (Jeffries) and  Otto Holling, was born April 22, 1929 in Jewell County, Kansas.  She departed this life on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Mary Lanning Health Care in Hastings, Nebraska.

​Geraldine was united in marriage on December 23, 1946 with Lyle Dean Shipley.  This union was blessed with the birth of two children one daughter and one son. Geri was a devoted wife, mother and sister.  She worked 25 years for Senior Services and 15 years as a volunteer for senior services and the Elm Street Center.  In her spare time she very much enjoyed sewing and reading but none of this diminished her first love that for her family and friends.

​She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter,  Linda Mae Shipley, and a brother, Jack Holling. 

​Survivors include her husband, Lyle Dean Shipley of Red Cloud, Nebraska; son, Dennis Shipley of Red Cloud;  sister, Nadine Holmes and husband, Don of Smith Center, Kansas; brothers, Dick Holling of Superior, Nebraska and Mike Holling of Grand Island, Nebraska; other relatives and a host of friends.

​Memorial services were Saturday 2:00 p.m., February 17, 2018 at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Red Cloud with Pastor Dan Benedict officiating.  Interment was at the Red Cloud Cemetery.
