Helen Louise (Stofer) Peters

Helen Louise Peters the daughter of Edward and Antonie (Becwar) Stofer was born December 16, 1922 at Exter, Nebraska.  She departed this life on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Superior Good Samaritan Center at the age of 96 years.

Helen graduated from Geneva High School with the class of 1940.  Helen then worked for a short while at Bankers Life in Lincoln, Nebraska, moving to Alexandria where she worked as a Mid Wife.  In 1942 Helen was united in marriage to Roscoe Sims.  This union was blessed with the birth of two children; a son Richard Charles and a daughter Judy.  Richard passed away in 1965.  From 1963 to 1979 Helen operated the Wonder Bread Discount Store in Fairbury, NE and also had worked at the Fairbury Safeway Store.

In 1979 Helen married  Otto Peters at Cuba, Kansas.  With her second marriage to Otto step children were added to her family; Clarice and Eugene.  Helen always enjoyed being in the out of doors.  She had been a member of the Republic County Czech Club and the WFLA Lodge in Munden, KS.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Roscoe Sims and husband Otto Peters; son Richard; and a brother Edward Stofer.

Survivors include her daughter Judy Meyer and husband Steve of Superior, NE; grandchildren: Angie Utecht and husband Mike of Superior, NE; Becky Caldwell and husband Marc of Superior, NE; Chad Meyer of Smith Center, KS; and Drew Meyer and wife Heather of Lincoln, NE; 2 step children; great grandchildren: Gavin and Garrett Caldwell; David Meyer and wife Ayssa; Brett Meyer; Ashlynn Meyer and Madison Meyer; great great granddaughter: Ava Meyer; other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Condolences may be sent to the family at wmsfh.com.  Williams Funeral Home of Superior, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
