Jeff Russell

Jeffery Scott Russell, the son of Carol (Kling) and George Russell, was born May 23, 1963 at Anchorage, Alaska. He departed this life unexpectedly on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the Webster County Community Hospital in Red Cloud, Nebraska at the age of 55 years, 9 months and 21 days.

Jeff moved to Lakewood, Colorado at an early age and received his formal education attending the Alameda High School where he graduated with the class of 1981. He continued his studies at both Colorado University and the Colorado School of Mines, receiving a degree in electronics. Jeff remained in the Denver area where he was employed with Martin-Marietta and later as the head mechanic for heavy equipment in the mines. He also was a journeyman electrician for several years.  Jeff left Colorado in 1993, and moved to Red Cloud, Nebraska.

He was united in marriage with Lisa Webber on September 17, 1994 in Red Cloud. Jeff was employed with Simag Elevator in Red Cloud and then with the Dinklage Feedlot. He later worked construction and farmed with Jim Patterson and was also employed for a period of time as a diesel mechanic for Ross Welton.

In his leisure time Jeff enjoyed driving Outlaw Late Model Stock Cars in the Denver area and he was a lifelong NASCAR fan and always looked forward to attending races with his family. A gifted machinist and mechanic, if it had wheels – Jeff could drive it and work on it.

Left to treasure his memory are his loving wife, Lisa of Red Cloud, Nebraska; a daughter, Tiffany Grahl and sons, Braden and Mason of Red Cloud; two sons, Andrew and Anthony of Red Cloud; his father-in-law, Marvin Webber of Inavale, Nebraska; a sister, Lori Richard and husband, Jeff, of Loveland, Colorado; two nieces; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., March 20, 2019 at the Congregational Bible Church in Red Cloud with the Rev. Gary Bennett officiating. Interment was at the Red Cloud Cemetery.
