Larry Deisley Obituary

Larry Vaughn Deisley, the son of Lois (White) and Stephen Roy Deisley, was born January 4, 1946 at Red Cloud, Nebraska. He departed this life unexpectedly at his home in Inavale, Nebraska on Friday, April 26, 2019 at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 22 days.

Larry received his formal education attending schools at Inavale, Riverton and Red Cloud.  A veteran of the United States Navy, he enlisted on December 17, 1964. Larry served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and served his country until his discharge on December 16, 1970. He lived in Colorado for a time where he was employed with Western States as a pipe welder and supervisor. He was united in marriage with Bonnie Blankenbaker on August 2, 1969 and this union was blessed with a daughter, Deana. The marriage later ended in divorce.

In 1994, Larry returned to Webster county to make his home and pursue his career as a skilled welder.  He also possessed a lifelong love for animals and in the 1980’s bought a pair of mules. In his leisure time he enjoyed caring for his animals, taking daily drives with his neighbor’s dog, working on cars and relaxing with a cold Anheuser-Busch with his family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Lois and Steve Deisley, and three brothers, Roger, Doug and Virgil Deisley.

Left to treasure his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Deana and Dana Giddings of Broken Bow, Nebraska; a grandson, Ezekiel; three brothers, Howard Deisley of Red Cloud and Leah Deisley; Mike Deisley of Lincoln, Nebraska and Gale Deisley and wife, Linda, of LaSalle, Colorado. Also surviving are a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., May 2, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Red Cloud with the Rev. Dan Albers officiating. Interment with military honors will be at the Red Cloud Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. at the funeral home and Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to service time at the church.
