Mary Elise Crumbliss

Mary Elise Bohling Crumbliss was born July 16, 1936 in Clay Center to Helen and Wendall Bohling.  She passed away May 17, 2018 at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, Nebraska. 

Mary graduated from Hastings High School and from Nebraska Wesleyan University where she was a member of the Willard Sorority.  She taught at Hastings Junior High and Edgar High School. She was a devoted member of the Church of the Plains and very active in the Central Ne Presbytery.  Mary was a member of Chapter AA PEO and Eastern Star Chapter 268. She was a volunteer EMT for many years as well as many countless hours spent volunteering her time to the community.  Her true passions were spending time with her grandchildren and being a farmer’s wife while helping around her family’s farm. 

She is survived by her husband Bob of 59 years; children Mame (Jim) Hild of Edgar; Rob (Dana) Crumbliss of Fairfield; grandchildren Preston Hild (friend Lacey Wright), Scott Hild (fiancé Paige Benner), Makenzie Crumbliss, Connor Crumbliss, Mason Crumbliss, Kaelyn Littrell, Ella Crumbliss; sister Nora Hinrichs of Lincoln; sister-in-law Carol King of Green Valley AZ; nephews, cousins, and countless friends. 

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Helen and Wendall Bohling, brother-in-laws Hank Hinrichs and Jim King, cousin Jim Walley.

Memorial services were Monday 10:30 a.m., May 21, 2018 at the Church of the Plains in Edgar, Nebraska with  Rev. Don Canady officiating.  Inurnment was at the Edgar Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers we are asking that contributions be made to the family who has chosen Church of the Plains and Alzheimer’s research for Mary’s memorial.
