Milton Faye Tupper, the son of Edith (Casada) and Bryan J. Tupper, was born June 30, 1922 at Riverton, Nebraska. He departed this life on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Webster County Community Hospital in Red Cloud, Nebraska at the age of 96 years, 3 months and 21 days.
A lifelong resident of the area, Milton received his formal education attending the Riverton schools, graduating with the class of 1939. He was united in marriage with Barbara Bunch on March 3, 1950 at Red Cloud, Nebraska. They began their life together on the farm northwest of Riverton in Franklin county. They later moved to their farm west of Inavale to make their home and raise their family. Milton was a constant steward of the land and cherished his years working the farm and raising his livestock. He was especially proud of his Charolais bulls. He possessed a passion for all of his animals including his livestock, horses and dogs. Milton was quoted as saying “I had to give up farming grain and now I’m farming flowers.” His endless work ethic was evidenced by his constant attention in pursing this mindset.
In his later years, as he was more dependent upon the assistance of a walker and then a powered wheelchair, he remained active around the community. His love for his family was immeasurable and he especially treasured the time they spent together.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Barbara Tupper, on May 31, 2004; three sisters: twins, Ilene Wulf and Irene Hansen, and Mattie Jones, and two brothers, Leo and Clinton Tupper.
Surviving are his children, Steve Terry and wife, Mary, of Red Cloud, Nebraska; Bridgett Wilson of Houston, Texas, and Cyndi Shannon of Inavale, Nebraska; his grandchildren and great grandchildren: Kristen Schofield and husband, Loren, and children, Kylie and Jakob; Karrie Hobbs and husband, Jeremy and children, Branden and Emily; Katie Wilson; Scott Terry and wife, Lynn; Ann Holmes and husband, William; Julie Layton and husband, Joey, and children, Jonah and Jordie; Erin Morey and husband, Matt, and children, Maben and Colton; Daniel Terry and wife, Jennifer, and children, Brennan and Bridget; Ryan Terry and wife, Jamie, and children, Julie and George; Lacy Stevens and husband, Kiel) and children, Jackson, Barrett and Ethan; and Michael Wentworth and wife, Gail; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., October 24, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Red Cloud with the Rev. Warren Schoming and Roger Hammond officiating. Interment was,at the Red Cloud Cemetery.
