In 1952, they moved to Burr Oak, Kansas to make their home where he owned and operated Frasier Garage until his retirement. Richard also operated heavy equipment around the area for various jobs.

Richard possessed a lifelong love for motorcycles and was an accomplished rider and enthusiast. His personality was pervaded by his honesty and generous nature. He will be fondly remembered for his keen sense of humor and a strong and dedicated work ethic.  His love for his family was immeasurable and he especially cherished the time they spent together.
