Velda M Tenhulzen

Velda M. Tenhulzen, the daugthter of Grace and Albert Vryheid, was born March 28, 1925 at Firth, Nebraska. She departed this life on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud, Nebraska at the age of 93 years, 5 months and 17 days.

Velda received her formal education attending the Firth schools and graduated with the class of 1942.  She was united in marriage with Delmer Gerald Tenhulzen on December 4, 1946 at the Firth Reformed Church.  This union was blessed with a daughter, Pat.  They made their home farming in the Firth community.  Delmer died on April 30, 2009.  In 2010, Velda moved to the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud to be near her family.  She was a member of the Firth Reformed Church.

Her greatest love and enthusiasm in life was for her grandsons, and she especially cherished the time they spent visiting on the farm.

Left to treasure her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Rick Hunter of Guide Rock, Nebraska; three grandsons, Curt Hunter, Rod and Tina Hunter and Brad Hunter; two great granddaughters, Tonette and Tia; other relatives and friends..
