Carol (Hubert) Jones

Carol Kay Jones, the daughter of Erva M. (Kile) and Carl H. Hubert, was born August 30, 1946 at Red Cloud, Nebraska. She departed this life on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Bryan East Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 75 years and 17 days.

Carol was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Upland. A lifelong resident of the Bladen community, she received her formal education attending the Bladen schools, graduating with the class of 1964. She continued her studies at the Lincoln School of Commerce. Carol was united in marriage with Edgar Jones on November 27, 1966 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Hill. This union was blessed with four children, Brenda, Troy, Dave and Heidi. Carol worked for a period of time in Bladen at the cafe.

A dedicated and caring wife, mother and grandmother, Carol’s love for her family was immeasurable. In 1978 she began her daily trips driving their daughter, Brenda, to school in Hastings. As the years passed, Carol’s transport vehicle grew in size and she drove the bus for school kids until retiring in 2010.

In her leisure time she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and making baby blankets for numerous families in the community. Carol was kind, compassionate, and always ready to lend a helping hand wherever needed.  She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and served for many years on the board of trustees for the Webster County Community Hospital.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Erva and Carl Hubert, and a brother, Richard Rodney Hubert.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ed Jones of Bladen; her family: Brenda Jones; Troy Jones and wife, Renae and daughter, Kassi; Dave Jones and Heidi Jones and Jeremy; sisters, Marcia Bliss and husband, Dave; and Cherilynn Hubert of Norfolk, Nebraska; other relatives and her many friends.

Services were Wednesday, 10:30 am, September 22, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Campbell with the Rev. Nathan Abel officiating. Interment was at the East Lawn Cemetery in Bladen.
