Carolyn Anne (Hayes) Combs

Carolyn Anne Combs the daughter of Jessie and Mildred (Perry) Hayes was born April 19, 1943 at Superior Nebraska. She departed this life on Monday, March 9, 2020 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 76 years.

 As a young girl Carolyn was baptized at the Union Methodist Church in Hardy Nebraska. Carolyn attended Hardy Public schools in Hardy Nebraska. On December 29, 1962 Carolyn was united in marriage to Dennis Raye Combs.  This union was blessed with the birth of one son. Carolyn worked a short time as a cosmetologist before starting her caretaking career at Brodstone hospital from 1968 retiring in 1998.   

Carolyn enjoyed crocheting blankets for the babes she helped deliver while working at the hospital. She always said it was time to retire when the baby she delivered were having babies of their own. However, if asked, Carolyn believed her greatest accomplishments were her family, her husband, her son and daughter-in-law, and her baby granddaughter Jenna.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Survivors include her son Jeffrey, wife Brenda and their daughter Jenna LeeAnne.  Brother Calvin Hayes and wife Connie, Brother-in-law Mike and wife Sharon, brother-in-law John and wife Linda all of Superior, NE; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of many, many friends.

Memorial services will be held this Friday 2:00 pm March 13, 2020 at the Lighthouse Community Church of the Nazarene in Superior, Nebraska.  Pastor Jeff Kimberly will be officiating. A book signing will be held on Thursday from 10 am to 7 pm with the family present from 5 pm to 7 pm.  Condolences may be sent to the family at wmsfh.com.  Williams Funeral Home of Superior, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
