Delores Krichau Obituary

Delores Louise Krichau, the daughter of William P. and Matilda (Schulz) Karr, was born February 28, 1925 in Bladen, Nebraska.  She departed this life on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the Azria Health Care Center in Blue Hill, Nebraska at the age of 95 years. A lifelong resident of the Bladen area, Delores attended rural school in Webster County and later graduated from the Bladen High School with the class of 1944. She was a member of the Bladen United Methodist Church and the Bladen United Methodist Women’s Society.
On March 11, 1948 Delores was united in marriage with Russell L. Krichau. This union was blessed with two daughters, Diana and Cindy. Delores worked as a school cook and custodian for many years at Bladen Public Schools, and after consolidation at Silver Lake Elementary. Several generations of school children enjoyed the products of her culinary skills. The homemade cinnamon rolls, served appropriately with chili soup, were legendary.
Delores loved her family more than anything. She and Russell attended nearly every activity their four granddaughters participated in, and they were there for every milestone in their lives: birthdays, holidays, graduations, weddings, and the births of the great grandchildren they loved so much. In her later years, Delores enjoyed watching her great grandchildren through the kitchen window while they were on the playground during recess and PE and as they got on and off the bus for school each day.
Delores was a master homemaker and possessed an impressive set of abilities that included sewing, embroidery, quilting, gardening, canning, and baking and cooking everything from scratch. Her chicken gravy was unparalleled. She also helped Russell for many years on the farm with milking cows, doing chores, laying out pipe, and any other farm task that needed to be done. Delores passed her work ethic and attention to detail on to her daughters and granddaughters, and she took pleasure in teaching them many of her life skills.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Russell, her brothers and their spouses, Clayton and Betty Karr, Norman and Regina Karr, and Dever and Arlene Karr, and brother-in-law Ken Berns.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Diana Wilson and husband Rob, and Cindy Pavelka and husband Keith; four granddaughters, Laci Dinkler and husband Scott, Amber Gibson and husband Wade, Kim Bonifas and husband Kevin, and Corissa Parr and husband Cory; 11 great grandchildren, Makayla, Morgan, Jacob, and Janaya Dinkler, Lee and John Gibson, Samantha, Beau, and Kinley Bonifas, and Elise and Brady Parr; sister LaVeda Berns, and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Private graveside services will be Saturday, December 5th, 2020 at the East Lawn Cemetery in Bladen, NE, with Pastor Dan Albers officiating.  Condolences may be sent to the family at wmsfh.com. Williams Funeral Home of Red Cloud, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
