Dorothy (Sweet) Wescoat

Dorothy Wescoat, the daughter of Sam and Letha (Wilson) Sweet, was born November 27, 1938 at Bloomington, Nebraska.  She departed this life on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at the Kensington Place in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 82 years.  Dorothy was one of four children born to the union along with Ann, Leroy and Janice.

Dorothy had worked as a car hop at the Frosty Mug Drive-Inn at Franklin, Nebraska as well as being employed as a clerk at the drug store.  Dorothy was united in marriage with Raymond Wescoat on March 13, 1957 at Mankato, Kansas.  This union was blessed with the birth of two sons, Randy and Danny.  Together Dorothy and Raymond owned and operated the Food Mart Grocery Store in Red Cloud for many years until their retirement.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sons, Randy and Danny.

Left to treasure her memory are her husband, Ray, of Hastings, Nebraska; grandchildren: Aaron, Kody, Kabrina, Scott and Matthew, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were Tuesday, 10:30 am, June 22, 2021 at the Revival Tabernacle Church in Red Cloud, Nebraska with Pastor Darrell Sutton officiating.  Burial was in the Riverton Cemetery, Riverton, Nebraska.
