Hazel Marie (Miksch) Zalman, only daughter of George and Lettie (Perry) Miksch passed away in her hometown of Red Cloud on Saturday, December 7, 2019. Hazel was born April 6, 1920 and graduated with the class of 1938 from Red Cloud Schools.
She was a graduate of the Hastings Beauty Academy and followed that profession for more than 25 years. On January 8, 1946, she married Glen Zalman and welcomed twin sons, Randall and Ronald in 1949. Hazel and Glen started and ran the ‘Warrior Drive-In’ and, after exiting that business, she founded the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.) in Red Cloud. In her spare time, Hazel enjoyed playing cards, sewing, quilting and especially enjoyed fellowship with friends at the Parkview Center Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents George and Lettie Miksch and brothers Orville and Paul.
Left to mourn her passing are son Randall (Donna) of Grand Island, NE; son Ronald of Red Cloud, NE; granddaughter Teresa (Pat) Long of Red Cloud, NE; granddaughter Tonja Woods of Laramie, WY; granddaughter Randa Zalman of Omaha, NE; grandson Matthew (Aleia) Zalman of Cincinnati, OH. Four great-grandchildren Dalton and Morgan Long and Alexis and Quentin Woods. All of whom she loved dearly. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Private family services were Saturday, December 14, 2019.
