Helen Arneson Obituary

Helen Eileen Arneson, 70, passed away May 21, 2021 at the Smith Center Memorial Hospital in Smith Center, Kansas from several medical conditions. She was born September 1, 1950 at Red Cloud, Nebraska to Helen (Potter) and Linton Arneson.

Eileen attended Crowe Hill country school through the third grade, then Lebanon Elementary School and High School, graduating with the class of 1968. She spent her lifetime on the family farm north of Lebanon, helping farm and taking care of her parents. Eileen enjoyed playing cards, knitting and many other crafts. She also enjoyed attending local auctions.

She possessed a love for animals and enjoyed taking care of the lawn. For many years Eileen took care of the flags on Memorial Day at the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother and his wife, Hobart and Theola Arneson; sister, Renee Laird; brother-in-law, Greg Potter and a sister-in-law, Pat Arneson.

Left to cherish her memory are her brothers and sister, Jim and Jody Arneson of Seward, Nebraska; Bill Arneson of Sabetha, Kansas; Ron and Joanie Arneson of Gorham, Kansas; Joe and Janice Arneson of Lawrence, Kansas; Shirley Arneson Potter of Manhattan, Kansas and Aunt Renita of Las Vegas, Nevada. Also surviving are a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Services will be held Saturday, 1:00 pm, July 31, 2021 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Smith County, Kansas.
