Ilene Olson

Catherine Ilene (Bright) Olson, was born November 13, 1936 to James Edward and Lillian Mae (Rickard) Bright in Red Cloud, Nebraska. She departed this life surrounded by her family on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Webster County Community Hospital in Red Cloud.

Ilene attended the Red Cloud public schools where she met and married Rudy Wesley Olson. They were united in marriage June 15, 1953. This union was blessed with five children, Viann, Debra, Gary, Cheryl and Ron.

Ilene enjoyed being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her church family. You could always find her in her grandma’s corner at Olson’s Sinclair having coffee with many of her friends. She enjoyed watching all kinds of birds but especially cardinals. She collected them as well. In her leisure time she was an avid reader. She also loved riding in cars and people watching.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Rudy; an infant great granddaughter, Maci Mae Fraser and infant great grandson, Aiden Allen Laird; brothers, Beauford and wife Nina Bright; Jim and wife Barbara Bright and a nephew, Larry Bright.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Viann and Darrell Fisbeck; Deb and Allen Fisbeck; Gary and Marcia Olson; Cheryl Blain and Ron and Stephani Olson; grandchildren: Rick and Eve Fisbeck, Carrie and Michael Hunt, Taryn and Steven Laird, Andrea and Brad Frey, Stephanie and Ethan Evert, Wes and Casie Olson, Ian and Ashley Olson, Caiti and Ben Bunger, Tyler and Ashley Olson, Tanya and Tyler Fraser and Cale and Beth Olson; great grandchildren: Phillip Fisbeck, Parker Fisbeck, Kayleigh Hunt, Jadyn Fisbeck, Dylan Smith, Ashton and Aiden Laird, Sterling Frey, Caden Frey, Wyatt Frey, Titus Frey, Judah Frey, Mason Evert, Rhett Olson, Ridge Olson, Jezebel Olson, Braxton Olson, Ryker Olson, Kaleb Smith, Austin Smith, Blakely Bunger, Brylee Bunger, Nora Olson, Brenna and Maci Fraser, Hadey Fraser and Stetson Olson; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were Monday, 10:30 am. April 12, 2021 at the Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud with the Rev. Dan Benedict officiating. Interment was at the Red Cloud Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.
