Iris received her formal education attending school in Pueblo, Colorado. On June 25, 1955 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Myron (Mickey) Nichols, at Pueblo. They lived a short time in Westfield, New York then returned to Pueblo where she was a homemaker. She was involved in 4H with cooking and canning. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family. She told us stories of hanging diapers on a rope between trees and warming baby bottles over campfires. They lived a short time in Houston, Texas and Tulsa, Oklahoma. They returned to Colorado where she worked at Federal Junction and Denny’s for several years as a waitress. Iris and Mickey moved to Red Cloud, Nebraska to make their home in March of 1989.
Iris was happiest spending time with her family. Her greatest love and enthusiasm in life was for her loving husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
