Janet M Good

Janet Marie Good, the daughter of Margaret (Gillispe) and Vernon Miner, was born March 23, 1949 at Norton, Kansas. She departed this life on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the Webster County Community Hospital in Red Cloud, Nebraska at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 21 days.

Janet grew up and received her formal education attending the Long Island, Kansas schools. She was in the last graduating class of the high school. Janet was united in marriage and blessed with three sons, Alan, Rick and Scott. Her marriage later ended in divorce and she moved to the Red Cloud community to raise her sons. She dedicated her working career serving others and was employed at the Sprague Nursing Home in Red Cloud which later became known as Heritage Care Center. She then continued her work at Spring Creek Home in Inavale, serving the residents there.

Janet possessed a strong work ethic and a lifelong dedication to helping others. In her leisure time she enjoyed caring for her many cats and for a number of years was on a bowling team with her sister. She always looked forward to lunches with her dear friend, Donna Leadabrand.  Janet’s love for her family was immeasurable and she especially cherished time spent with her sons and all of her grandchildren. Tragically losing her parents at the age of seven, her uncle and aunt, Don and Tiny Miner, became a very special part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Vernon Miner, and a nephew, Brian Miner.

Left to treasure her memory are his sons and grandchildren: Alan Good of Grand Island and children Tyson and Makena; Rick Good and wife, Jeanie, of Giltner and children, Brett and Brooke; and Scott Good and wife, Amy, of Hastings, Nebraska and family Skyler and wife, Allie, Jacob and Callie. Also surviving are her sister, Judy Hebing and husband, Randall; a brother, Jim Miner; nieces and nephews: Shannon and Vera Tippin and children; RaNell and Shawn Addington and children; Matthew and Aerial Tippin and family; Aaron and Kat Tippin and family; Lynell and Carl Miskimins and family; other relatives and her many friends

Funeral services were Friday, 10:00 am, September 17, 2021 at the Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud with the Rev. Gary Bennett officiating. Interment was at the Red Cloud Cemetery.

Memorials will be directed to Start Over Rover in Hastings.
