Jeffery Vaughn Soucek, the son of Joan E. (Wratten) and James L. Soucek, was born February 23, 1964 at Hastings, Nebraska. He died unexpectedly at his home in Harvard, Nebraska on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the age of 54 years and 26 days.
A lifelong resident of the area, Jeff grew up in the Bladen community and received his formal education attending the Bladen schools, graduating with the class of 1982. He continued his schooling attending Central Community College in Hastings where he received his Associate’s Degree in auto body repair. Jeff was employed for several years with a harvest crew traveling and working from Texas to the Canadian border. He then went to work with the Ayr Grain Company and most recently has been employed with the Aurora Cooperative at the Harvard Grain Facility.
Jeff possessed a number of interests and hobbies in his spare time. He enjoyed rodeos, fishing, camping and any activity outdoors. He especially cherished time spent with his family and friends. He will be fondly remembered for his wit and sense of humor, and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents; his sister, Holly Soucek Timm on February 28, 2018, and a brother, Timothy Alan Soucek on July 13, 1970.
Left to treasure his memory are his parents, Joan and Jim Soucek of Hastings, Nebraska; his son, Tyler and his daughter, Cierra; a brother and sister-in-law, Mitch and Cindy Soucek of McCook, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services were Friday, 10:30 a.m., February 1, 2019, at the United Methodist Church in Bladen with the Rev. Dan Albers officiating. Interment was at the East Lawn Cemetery at Bladen.
The family kindly request no flowers. Memorials will be directed to a memorial fund in Jeff's name established by the family.
