Jimmy Anderson Obituary

Jimmy E. Anderson, the son of Charles Leroy and Madalane (Heflin) Anderson, was born June 30, 1944, at Chicago, Illinois, He departed this life on August 26, 2022, at the Harvard Rest Haven in Harvard, Nebraska at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 26 days.

Jimmy grew up in the Hastings community and received his formal education attending the Hastings public schools. He was employed at a number of places including the Gibbon Pack, Western Plastics and with a construction crew. He then began his employed with the Hastings Junior High School as a night custodian, where he worked until his retirement.

On June 19, 1992, he was united in marriage with Barbara Arline Anderson at Hastings, Nebraska, and they were blessed with thirty wonderful years together. They enjoyed a number of activities throughout their lives including camping, boating, picnics in the parks grilling hot dogs and time spent with their family. Jimmy cherished the opportunity of being a husband and caring for his wife, Barb.

He also loved country western music and clothing and was a big Glen Campbell music fan.

Preceding him in death were wife, Barb, on July 30, 2022; his parents; sisters, Diane Scheierman and Martha Delgado; and brothers, Max and Andy Anderson.

Left to treasure his memory are his children, Debra Price and husband, Joe, of Hastings, Nebraska; Jackie Rozmiarek and husband, Rick, of Harvard; Darren Forbes and wife, LaVeta, of Juniata; and Farrin Forbes of Hastings, Nebraska; 17 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Watson of Hastings, Nebraska; brothers, Norm Anderson and wife, Nancy, of Hastings; and Troy Anderson and wife, Deb, of Polk, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Caroline Anderson and Sue Anderson; a brother-in-law, Harold Scheierman; 18 nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Thursday, 10:30 am, September 1, 2022, at the Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud with the Rev. Dan Benedict officiating. Interment was at the Riverton Cemetery in Riverton, Nebraska.

A memorial fund has been established by the family for later designation.
