Kim Wesley Devore

Kim Wesley DeVore the son of Charley and Delores Mersch DeVore was born August 20, 1960, in Hebron, Nebraska. He departed this life on Friday July 2, 2021, at Mary Lanning Health Care in Hastings, Nebraska age the age of 60 years.

Kim worked for Carl Jorgensen during the summer months, helping with the farm work during part of his school years. After graduation he worked for Reinke Manufacturing and later Pat’s Plumbing in the early 1980’s. Also, he worked part time at ERC in Edgar.  Kim worked full time for Pat’s until his accident during work in 1995. 

Kim then had multiple health problems including his knees and many more which led to his disability.

Kim raced motorcycles for a while, he loved guns and hunting at the farm.  He very much enjoyed his International Scouts and his Jack Russell terriers.  In his spare time Kim enjoyed working on guns, fixing, cleaning and shooting.  Kim could be found using his metal detector with his brother Bryan.

Kim was a jack of all trades; he usually found a way to fix almost anything.

Kim had made Edgar his home form the early 1980’s and then for a short while in Colorado and then back to Edgar where his lived until the Lord took him home.  Kim fought a very long hard battle with his medical problems.

He is preceded in death by his father, grandparents: Delmar & Kate DeVore; Grandmother Marie Brown and grandparents: Clarence and Eveyn Mersch.

Survivors include his mother Delores DeVore of Davenport, NE; son Shawn DeVore and wife; twin granddaughters Bridget and Bailey of Albuquerque, NM; daughter Charlene DeVore Swenson and husband and granddaughter: Brooklyn of Tucson, AZ; brothers: Larry DeVore and wife Chris of Edgar, NE; Bryan DeVore and wife Margaret of Davenport, NE; Jeff DeVore and wife Jackie of Edgar, NE; his dog Jax, who is missing him dearly; nieces: Katie Shaw; Megan Scheafer; Tonya DeVore, Amy DeVore; Crystal and Melody  and Kristina; nephews: Mark Sanders, Travis DeVore, Brandon DeVore, Luke and Thomas, Dennis Nevin, other relative and a host of friends.

Memorial services will be held this Thursday 10:30 am July 8, 2021 at the Williams Funeral Home in Edgar, NE.  Pastor David King will be officiating.  Private family burial will be held at the Edgar Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to the family at wmsfh.com.  Williams Funeral Home of Edgar, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
