Kim Shaw Obituary

Kim Lee Shaw, son of Robert Benjamin Shaw and Doris Joan Shaw was born June 5, 1957 in Red Cloud, NE.  He departed this life on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at the age of 66 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE.

He grew up in Guide Rock, NE where he attended school and graduated from high school in 1975.  He played sports in high school to include basketball, football and track.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles and rebuilding automobiles.

After high school, he worked at John Deere and then the Co-op in Red Cloud.  He later went on to work at Coleman Powermate in Kearney, NE and became a foreman there.  He enjoyed farming as well and for a time worked as an EMT with Fire and Rescue while living in Axtell, NE.  He was known to be a hard worker and to have a good work ethic.

In his free time he enjoyed being an outdoorsman, hunting, fishing, camping and arrowhead hunting.  He had special interests in Native American history, firearms and Western movies.   He was known to be a great storyteller and always had a funny joke to tell.  He enjoyed spending time shooting the breeze with friends and family and talking about fond memories.

He loved his children dearly and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Left to keep his memory are his children Kristopher Shaw and wife Katie, and daughter Mandi Brooks and husband Sherman, as well as his grandchildren Zoe, Ajani, Miles, Aidan, Krayson and Keller.  Also surviving are numerous relatives, cousins and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents Robert and Joan Shaw, sister Robin Shaw and son Benjamin Lee Shaw.

Funeral services were Monday, 2:00 pm, January 15, 2024, at the Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud with the Rev. Dale Thiele officiating. Interment was at the Guide Rock Cemetery.
