Lois M. Spurrier, the daughter of Linda (Cox) and Marvin Schneider, was born July 25, 1982 at Hastings, Nebraska. She departed this life surrounded by her family on Monday, June 15, 2020 at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 37 years, 10 months and 20 days.
Lois received her formal education attending the Blue Hill and Red Cloud schools. On July 7, 2014 she was united in marriage with Brian Spurrier at the Mt. Hope Church in Smith County, Kansas. They made their home at Western, Nebraska where she was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. In May of 2020, Lois was diagnosed with cancerous brain tumor and she and Brian spent the remainder of their time on the family farm in Smith County with the assistance of her brother-in-law, Elmer Spurrier.
Her personality was pervaded her an immeasurable love for family and friends. She was happiest when she was caring for her home cooking, baking and especially caring for babies. Lois did not know a stranger. She possessed an adventurous spirit and was always ready to take a drive in the country or set out on a long road trip at a moment's notice.
Left to treasure her memory are her husband, Brian; seven children: Kristopher Stromer and partner, Mackenzie DeFrain of Fairbury, Nebraska;; Hannah Stromer of Omaha, Nebraska; Briannah Stromer of Hastings, Nebraska; Lance Henry of Hastings, Nebraska; Raeannah Stromer of Hastings; Brayden Spurrier of Blue Hill, Nebraska and Hope Spurrier of Hastings. Also surviving are two brothers, Timothy Schneider and Dennis Schneider and wife Michelle all of Hastings, Nebraska; her parents, Linda and Marvin Schneider of Blue Hill, Nebraska and brother-in-law, Elmer Spurrier of Lebanona, Kansas; other relatives and a host of many friends.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, 3:00 pm, June 20, 2020 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Smith County, Kansas with the Rev. Larry Harvey officiating.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud.
A memorial fund has been established by the family for later designation.
