Lucille (Waugh) Jacobe

Edna Lucille Jacobe, 92, died July 20, 2020 at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska. She was born April 27, 1928 to Vernon and Edna (Eversole) Waugh. Lucille was the 5th of 13 children.

She was raised in Osborne, Kansas and received her formal education attending the Osborne schools. She was united in marriage with Melvin E. Jacobe on January 25, 1946. This union was blessed with two children. They resided at Osborne until 1952, when they moved to Washington. In 1965, they moved to Oregon and in 1970, moved to Red Cloud to make their home, where Lucille was employed for several years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Melvin; son, Barry Jacobe, son-in-law, Frederick Hernandez; brothers, Bob, Jerry. Everett and Jack Waugh, and a sister, Nellie Waits.

Left to treasure her memory are her daughter, Cynthia Hernandez of Beaver City, Nebraska; daughter-in-law, Haroldine Jacobe of Red Cloud, Nebraska; grandson, Gary Jacobe and wife, Christine of Bend, Oregon, granddaughter, Carmen Jacobe of Longmont, Colorado. Also surviving are siblings, Lowell (Janette) Waugh, Helen Priest, Jane (Eugene) Lindeman and Trudy Morgan, Hastings, Nebraska; Irene Snyder of Topeka, Kansas; Gloria Ann Thomas of Osborne, Kansas, Eloise Brack of Derby, Kansas; sisters-in-law, Marge Waugh and Mary Waugh; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., July 28, 2020 at the Osborne Cemetery in Osborne, Kansas with Bob Henning, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses elder, officiating.
