Hastings, Nebraska resident Mason J. Senti, 86, passed away at his home on Saturday, September 25, 2021.
Graveside services were Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Red Cloud Cemetery in Red Cloud, Nebraska with Pastor Lance McDowell of Lebanon, Kansas officiating.
Mason was born to Owen Lloyd “Pete” and Jeanette (Poppen) Senti on July 20, 1935 in rural Smith County, Kansas. He graduated from Harlan High School at Harlan, Kansas in 1953.
Mason was raised on the family farm, where he started farming with his father at a young age. From that beginning, he never lost his love of farming the land.
Mason was united in marriage to Arlene Kay Thompson on January 11, 1955. To this union two sons Craig Jay and Kurt Lee were born. They later divorced.
On March 22, 1974 Mason was united in marriage to Marlene Kaye Sanders. They farmed southeast of Bellaire, Kansas until Mason’s retirement and then moved to Smith Center, Kansas. Because of his failing health they moved to Hastings, Nebraska to be closer to his doctors.
Mason was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Iris Oline; son, Craig Jay in 1967; niece, Kelli DeAnn Beitler in 1989; father-in-law, Harry Sanders; and mother-in-law, Doreen Sanders.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marlene Kaye of Hastings, Nebraska; son, Kurt (Kelly) Senti; grandsons Keith (Courtney) Senti and Kristopher (Keshia) Senti; great grandchildren Elijah, Levi, Joshua, Emry and Lexi Senti all of Oklahoma; sisters-in-law Sharon (Jim) Beitler of Red Cloud, Nebraska and Barbara Reicks of Hastings, Nebraska; niece, Traci (Lee) Oliver of Smith Center, Kansas; nephew, Corey (Melissa) Cline of Kearney, Nebraska; great nephews, Wyatt (Amy) Oliver of Smith Center, Kansas, Dalton Oliver of Ellis, Kansas, Kingston and Beckett Cline of Kearney, Nebraska; all of the Huiting cousins from Downs, Kansas, Stan, Tava, Nancy and Bryan; and his furry friends, Lexi, Missy and Macie and other family and friends.
