Michael Thomas Lorensen

Michael Thomas Lorensen the son of Howard and Margaret (Petersen) Lorensen was born May 8, 1950 at Norfolk, Nebraska.  He departed this life on Saturday November 21, 2020 at his home in rural Nuckolls County, Nebraska near Oak.

Mike grew up at Stanton, Nebraska and graduated with the class of 1968.  Just after graduation Mike joined the United State Airforce and did two tours in Vietnam during the war.  Mike was honorably discharged in 1974 and moved to Tacoma, Washington where he joined the Pipefitters Union Local #26 and remained there for 30 years.

Mike returned to Stanton in 1988 and was united in marriage to his wife Susan Melton on March 8th. The couple returned to Tacoma and remained there for five more years.  In 1992 Mike and Susan bought an acreage near Oak and made that their home.

Mike always enjoyed being in the out of doors, using his small tractor around their place, camping when time permitted.  Mike loved remodeling their home and working on various projects both inside and outside of their home.  Mike was a long time Seattle Seahawk football fan and was able to watch them win prior to his passing.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers Samuel and Peter.

Survivors include his  wife Susan of Oak, NE; daughter Holland Lorensen and Will of Clay Center, NE; son Jens Lorensen and Beth of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren: Gracelynn and Jeremiah Michael, his two dogs Boo and Sylvia and his cat Harry.
