Norma Rasser Obituary

Norma Jean Rasser, the daughter of Effie Dell (Hagan) & Perry Edward Miner, was born on January 20, 1929 @ Guide Rock, NE. She departed this life on Sunday, May 31, 2020 in the comfort of her home while surrounded by family.

Norma Jean grew up In the Guide Rock community and graduated high school with the class of 1947. On Aug 1st, 1948, (in Cortland, NE), Norma Jean married the love of her life, William Henry Rasser Jr. (Bill) of Red Cloud, NE. This union was blessed with five children; Gary, Roger, Karin, Lonny & Tracy. Norma Jean took great pride in managing her household, raising her children, gardening with her family & traveling with her husband.

As her children grew up, she always looked forward to holidays with family. Holidays were always filled with card games & marbles in which Norma Jean was proficient at cheating, sometimes with the help of others. Every other Sunday, with her Mother & immediate family, she would cook her famous fried chicken & potato salad & we’d have wonderful picnic’s.

Her enjoyment in life was eating candy that her husband hid!, caring for her ornery cats & having her grandkids over for visits. We cherished her spirit & love for her family.
Norma Jean was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Left to treasure her memory are her children; Gary & wife Lori, Roger & wife Barbara, Karin Prellwitz & Lonny Rasser all of Red Cloud, and Tracy Rasser of Dallas, TX; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren & other relatives & friends.

Graveside services will be 10:30 am, Saturday, June 6th,2020 at the Red Cloud Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Albers officiating. Songs being played; “The Old Rugged Cross”, “Amazing Grace”, “Supermarket Flowers”, & “When I See You Again”
