Patsy Warner Obituary

Patricia Lee Warner was born Oct 6, 1938 to Vern and Margaret (Davis) Mendenhall. Patsy grew up in Wichita and went to school in Wichita and Derby. Graduating from Wichita West HS. While a child, her parents divorced and she lived with her mother and step father Glenn Heaverin, then Alfred Bolt. As the oldest, Patsy took on a significant role helping raise her younger brothers and sisters.

After her junior year of HS, Patsy moved out and started on her own, working at the K-42 drive-in and other jobs. Getting started going to church, she soon recognized a need for a Savior and accepted Christ into her life. She started working at Friends University as a secretary . It wasn’t long before she caught the eye of a gangly farm kid named Glen from Burr Oak, KS. They soon married on September 1, 1957 and moved to a dairy farm near Burr Oak with a brief 1 year detour to El Paso, TX while Glen was stationed there in the National Guard. After returning, they attended Northbranch Friends Church where they farmed and raised 3 boys, Alan, Tim & Kevin. From those three sons, came daughter-in-laws Barbara, Wanda & Susan, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Patsy helped on occasion with the farm work, but eventually found her own niche running a small business baking and decorating cakes. Everything from small birthday cakes to large wedding cakes. Some years baking over a 100 cakes for neighbors, friends, and family. Later, she cared for her Aunt Doris Redick and Glen’s parents, Wilber and Lucy in their declining years. Her final job was working at the Jewel County Senior Center.
Patsy and Glen taught Sunday School, Youth Classes, kept 3 exchange students, and also hosted several Foster Teens. Patsy and Glen impacted numerous young lives for Christ over the course of their lives.

After battling health issues for many years Patsy left to receive her reward in heaven on November 13, 2021.

Preceding her in death by her parents, sisters Glennice and Roberta and her brother, Gene.
