Robert Roybal Obituary

Robert Tobias Roybal was born April 27, 1936 in Leadville, Colorado the 5th of 12 children to Theodore and Elizaida (Jaramillo) Roybal. He departed this life on June 2, 2021 at the Webster County Community Hospital in Red Cloud, Nebraska with his loving wife at his side.

Bob served in the United States Army-195 for three years, stationed mostly in Germany. Bob was a Miner First Class most of his life until his retirement working in Gold, Silver and Molybdenum, Uranium and basic metal mines in Alaska, New Mexico and Colorado.

He was united in marriage with Laura Johnson on June 2, 1972 at the First Presbyterian Church in Salida, Colorado. Their marriage was an adventure. Together they traveled all over the United States and Europe. Their youngest daughter, Cathy, was born on her Dad’s birthday, and until last year shared every birthday together. Bob had many talents. He could wire, plumb, build and fix anything. He was a master of repurposing for the sake of the planet. He loved the earth and making things grow.  Bob was a man of honor, compassion, wisdom, hard work and love. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Red Cloud. Every Christmas season Bob got lots of joy in decorating their home from top to bottom.
