Robert Eugene Graning was born July 18, 1944, and departed from this earth on August 26, 2023, at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 7 days at the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud, Nebraska. Bob was born to George G.E. and Mary (Miller) Graning in Hebron, Nebraska.
He attended elementary and high school in Hebron. He worked at the local Hebron grocery store while in high school, where he met the love of his life, Judith Percival. Bob and Judy were married on May 19, 1963, in Bruning, Nebraska. They lived in Hebron for the first three years of their marriage, moved to Franklin, Nebraska for a year and then planted roots in Red Cloud, Nebraska. Bob and Judy had two daughters, Debra Kay and Dianna Lynne. Bob enjoyed working with his hands and was a master carpenter for over 50 years, remodeling and building for the community of Red Cloud and surrounding areas.
Bob was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt side by side with his beloved dog, Maggie. Bob also loved collecting guns, gardening, animals, traveling and camping, cooking, watching TV, cutting wood, collecting antiques, telling jokes and spending time with family.
Preceding him in death were his father, George G.E. Graning, his mother, Mary (Miller) Graning, and a sister, Marjorie (Graning) Marquart.
Surviving are his wife, Judith Graning of Red Cloud; daughter, Debra Sanne and husband, Rick, of Beatrice, Nebraska; daughter, Dianna Ford and husband, Robert, of Plant City, Florida; a sister, JoAnne Gaylord and husband, Bob, of Beatrice, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Delmer Marquart of Deshler, Nebraska; 6 grandchildren: Kailey, Jacie, Jaryn (Lacey), Christian, Jacob and Alisha (Meme); 11 great grandchildren: Iliana, Alexa, Juan Jr., Jamie, Jenna, Judy, Alexia, Carter, Amelia, Theodore and Navy.
Graveside services were Wednesday, 10:00 am, August 30, 2023, at the Red Cloud Cemetery with Jeff Ord officiating.
