Sharon Kay Rust was born October 4, 1941 in Walnut Grove in rural Jewell County, Kansas to Lyle Glen and Verda Eva (Jones) Fringer. She departed this life on Tuesday March 24, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Nebraska.
Sharon attended school in Guide Rock from elementary through high school. She was baptized at the Methodist Church in Guide Rock and attended church there until she moved. She was united in marriage to Jim Rust at Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior on October 4, 1959.
After a brief stint in Virginia while Jim was in the Army they returned to the Superior area where she resided until her death.
Sharon worked as a nurses aid at the hospital in Superior for a couple years in the early 1960’s and then became a full-time mother. She returned to the work force in the late 70’s when all of her children were in school and worked in the cafeteria in the Superior school system for over 15 years.
Sharon loved music, especially country music and music from the 50’s, and she loved dancing even more. She loved spending time with her family more than anything and was always looking for something special to do for her grand kids and great grand kids.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Verda Fringer, husband James Rust and her brother Rex, Virgil and Ron Fringer.
Survivors include son Robert Rust (Bobby) of Blue Hill, daughters Terry Allard of Anchorage, AK and Elaine Crawford of Lincoln. Five grandchildren, Cody Effenbeck of Deshler, Garrett Effenbeck of Hebron, Autumn Effenbeck of York, Robby Allard of Colorado Springs, CO and Amanda Allard of Anchorage, AK and four great grandchildren, Addison Effenbeck and Kipton Effenbeck of Deshler, Bennett Calvert of York and Liam Effenbeck of Hebron, NE; sister Glenda Douthit of Visalia, Ca. sister in law Cindy Meyer of Nelson; brother in law Robert Rust of Guthrie, OK.
Visitation will be held on Friday and Saturday from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Superior. There will be a graveside service for immediate family in the near future and a celebration of life later when it’s safe for travel and to gather together. Memorials can be sent directly to the family or to the Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences may be sent to the family at wmsfh.com.
