Sue (Moore) Knutzen

Myfanwy Sue (Moore) Knutzen, the daughter of Lawrence and Ellen Jane (Wilcox) Moore was born July 17th, 1944 at Edgar, Nebraska.  She departed this life on Saturday June 18th, 2021 at Blue Valley Nursing Home in Hebron, Nebraska. 

Sue attended the Edgar Public Schools where she graduated with the class of 1962.  She received her white nurses cap from Mary Lanning in Hastings Ne. where she worked in the OB department.  She also worked in OB at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Ne. while her and Russell were living in Millard, Ne. 

In 1972 they moved back to Edgar, Ne. where Sue’s next job was to be a farmer’s wife and raise two sons, which she loved to do very much. 

In 1976 they moved to the Christenson homestead just west of Ong, Ne. where Sue and Russ resided until 2020.  In those 44 years Sue did what she loved to do the most and that was to take care of Russ and their two boys.  Sue was an amazing seamstress, sewing most of the boy’s clothes as they grew up, but also wedding dresses and other clothes for family and friends.  Sue also loved her sheep.  From getting newborns to nurse to going to different shows and sales, Knutzen Suffolks was one of her favorite things to do. 

Sue also accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior, was baptized in the Holy Spirit and was never bashful about telling anyone about the Lord.  She loved to do activities with the various churches she attended and is a member of the Connect Church (Assembly of God) in Geneva, Ne.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Ellen Jane (Wilcox) Moore of Edgar, Lawrence and Emilie (Christenson) Knutzen of Ong, Ne.  Brothers Monte (Pat) Moore and his wife Meredith and Micheal Moore all of Edgar, Ne.  Brother In laws Eugene Ahlstrom of Omaha, Ne. and Roy Lautenschlager of Hastings, Ne.

Sue is survived by husband Russell Knutzen of Edgar, Ne. Sons Randy and wife Renee of York, Ne and Rodney and wife Annalisa Knutzen of Edgar, Ne.  Grandchildren Matthew Russell of Columbus, Ne. Zachary Lawrence and wife Courtney of Wichita, Ks. Samuel William Knutzen of Altus, Ok. Emilee Jane Knutzen of Lincoln, Ne. Wyatt Lynn Knutzen of Edgar, Ne. and Allyson Reese Knutzen of Edgar.  Great grandchildren Nalia Rose Staub and Kellan Lawrence Knutzen of Wichita, Ks. Sister Marilyn Lautenschlager of Hastings, Ne.  Sister in Laws Linda Moore of Edgar, Ne and Ellen Reichhoff of Omaha, Ne.

Numerous nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces and great great nephews and nieces.  Plus friends from the community, church and the Suffolk business. 

Memorial services were Friday 10:30 am June 25, 2021 at the Connect Church in Geneva, Nebraska with Pastor Galen Rasmussen officiating.  Inurnment will be held at the Ong Cemetery, Ong, Nebraska.
