Taunya M Holtorf

Taunya Melissa Holtorf, the daughter of Kent and Diana (Decker) Holtorf, was born November 30, 1964, at Anaheim, California. She departed this life unexpectedly at her home in Red Cloud, Nebraska on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at the age of 57 years, 6 months and 9 days.

As a young girl Taunya lived briefly with her family in California and Chicago before moving to Central City, Nebraska where she grew up and received her formal education attending the Central City schools.

 She was united in marriage with Joe Zywiec in 1987 in Nance County, Nebraska at Belgrade. This union was blessed with three children, Justin, Tabitha and Tene’a. The marriage later ended in divorce. Taunya then moved to Florida to make her home with Mark Savery. While in Florida she was employed with a construction crew working on both commercial and residential properties. In 2012, she decided to return to Nebraska to be near her children and grandchildren. She moved to Red Cloud to share a home with Joe.

 In her leisure time she enjoyed camping, fishing and relaxing around water, whether it be lakes, ponds, rivers or various camp sites.

 Preceding her in death was her biological father, Bill Grampo.

Left to treasure her memory are her children, Justin Zywiec of Lincoln, Nebraska; Tabitha Zywiec of Holdrege, Nebraska and children, Khole and Kyler; Tene’a Zywiec of St. Louis, Missouri; her parents, Diana and Kent Holtorf of Central City, Nebraska; two sisters, Tina Holtorf and daughter, Jesse of Florida and Nicole Berry and husband, Mark, and Jordan and James of St. Louis, Missouri; a brother, Billy Holtorf of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her former husband, Joe Zywiec of Red Cloud, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services were Thursday, 10:00 am, June 16, 2022, at the Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud with the Rev. Dan Benedict officiating.
